The 2024-25 Daido Life SV.LEAGUE Round 14 GAME 1 was held on February 1st (Sat) at Panasonic Arena (Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture), where OSAKA BLUTEON (hereinafter referred to as Bluteon) faced off against the Hiroshima Thunders.

The match began with a back-and-forth exchange of points, but the team maintained momentum with key plays, including blocks by Evade-Dan and spikes by Jeschke.
After the 11-12 technical timeout, tenacious defense during the seesaw battle allowed Lopez's attacks to land, firmly securing the momentum.
Starting with Jeschke's serve, the team scored consecutive points and gradually widened the gap. With a service ace from Nishida and another from Lopez late in the set, the team took the first set with a final score of 25-20.

The early stages saw both teams trading side-outs, but Bluteon gradually found their rhythm as their blocking and defense clicked, leading to points from Nishida following rallies.
Reaching the technical timeout at 12-8, the team converted defensive plays into points, primarily through wing attacks, and implemented tactical changes such as bringing in Tomita.
Late in the set, Kai, registered for the first time this season, entered as a relief server and contributed to the team with a commanding performance, landing a powerful service ace on his first attempt.
Finally, the team fended off the opponent's late rally to take the set 25-22.

Just like in the first and second sets, the early stages were a patient back-and-forth battle. Jeschke inspired the team with great defense, and Lopez shone offensively, including finishing off an out-of-system set.
After reaching the technical timeout at 12-8, the team increased their scoring by applying pressure with their serves and extending rallies.
Bluteon continued to connect with accurate receives, with Lopez serving as the focal point of the attack to pile on points, heading into the final stretch at 20-13.
In the final moments, they continued to launch attacks from perfect defense that kept the ball off the floor, scoring consecutive points. Finally, Nishida closed it out with a sharp service ace to take the set 25-14 and win in straight sets.
OSAKA BLUTEON has a record of 22 wins and 3 losses (1st in the league), with 65 total points and a winning percentage of 0.88.

This was one of the best games of the season.
All the players were focused, and our serving and defense were excellent.
Our spike success rate from rallies was also high, and Kai's first point was wonderful.

We had a bad memory from our previous match against the Hiroshima Thunders, where we won 3-0 but lost 2-3 the next day, but today's match was one of the top two best-played games of the season.
I think the opponent will come up with a new strategy for tomorrow's match, but Bluteon will head into it with this good image, play our own style of volleyball, and go for the win.
